Walk to End Hunger!

The Chatham Hunger Walk is Sunday, November 5 starting at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro (NEW LOCATION).

This is CORA’s largest annual fundraiser.
Participants can walk a 1-mile or 5K route that includes the CCCC campus trail. The 5K takes walkers through historic neighborhoods of downtown Pittsboro and the First Sunday Artisan Fair & Market before returning to the library. Both routes end at the Pittsboro Senior Center Chili Cook Off, a fundraiser for the Council on Aging sponsored by AARP.

1 Mile & 5K Registration Details:
To reserve your t-shirt size, walkers are encouraged to register online by October 22nd. Pre-registration for adults is $20. Registration at the event is $25.00. Students walk for free. Students who raise $25.00 or more in donations get a free t-shirt and can reserve their shirt size on line by pre-registering. Print your registration and bring it to the walk. Bandanas for your well-behaved, leashed dog will be sold for $5.00. Information and fundraising materials are available in a Hunger Walk “team packet.” To receive the packet email hungerwalk@corafoodpantry.org or call 919-545-3030 to leave your name and mailing address. All team members should pre-register on line and reserve a t-shirt even if they do not have to pay the registration fee.

AARP Chili Cook Off to benefit the Pittsboro Senior Center:
After the walk from 4:00 – 6:00 PM join us at the Pittsboro Senior Center to share a meal together. Tickets are $10.00 per person and includes chili, bread, dessert and a drink. Purchase tickets at the event.
