In July, CORA will return to choice shopping Monday through Thursday from 10 am – 2 pm. Choice shopping refers to a system where individuals or families in need can select their own groceries. Our community members have various options when selecting their groceries, from local fresh produce, meats, dairy, bakery items, and shelf-stable staples, to personal hygiene items.
CORA believes when families choose their own foods, it creates an atmosphere of dignity and builds a sense of community between staff, volunteers, and those we serve. It also recognizes their unique needs and preferences, allowing them to select items that align with their cultural, dietary, and health requirements. Additionally, this approach reduces food waste, as people are more likely to take things they will consume.
CORA will continue drive-through service each Friday from 10 am – 12 pm. Families will receive bags filled with shelf-stable food supplemented with produce, protein, and bakery items.
