CORA had their 7th Annual Chatham Empty Bowls Fundraiser on Sunday, April 24 5:00 to 7:30 at Hanks Chapel Fellowship Hall in Pittsboro. Your participation continues to help CORA Food Pantry feed hungry residents from all over Chatham County.
CORA Empty Bowls featured:
A 50/50 Raffle – Congratulations to the Winner, Bridget Perry
The Pottery is always highlight of the event. The ticket for “The Works” included a locally handcrafted bowl of the buyer’s choice to treasure and use at home. Potters from all over the Triangle contributed bowls to the event including Bennett Baptist Church, Darlene Brady, Elena Ceberio, Clayworks Pottery Guild, Debbie Englund, Pam Epperson, Mark Hewitt, Michelle Lang, Jo Lovvorn, Trude McLaughlin, Mary Anne Moore, Lynn Morrow, Lara O’Keefe, Harold Pelzel, Sandra Boyd Pelzel, Janet Resnick, Siglinda Scarpa,Rita Schiavone and Students, Sertoma Studio Potters, Rusty Seick, Ronni Theeman, Bronwyn Watson, and Trish Welsh.
Popular local eateries provide the soup. Vegan and vegetarian soup options were available. Participating restaurants were Allen & Son Barbecue, Angelina’s Kitchen, Bean & Barrel, Carolina Brewery, The City Tap, The MOD(ern deli), Oakleaf, Pittsboro Roadhouse, Small B&B Café, and Tarantini. 458 West B&B provided a dessert item.
A crew of bakers from Fearrington Village provided fresh home-baked breads. Admission also included light hors d’oeuvres and a variety of homemade desserts.

All proceeds go to CORA Food Pantry, which provides a week’s worth of food for individuals and families in crisis in Chatham County. CORA now serves 500 families a month and expects to distribute enough food this year to feed 20,000 individuals for a week. We couldn’t do this without the help of all of our wonderful guests, volunteers and donors.
